Problem Note 64770: A stand-alone installation of SAS® Enterprise Guide® 7.1x in 64-bit fails on a system that already has a 32-bit version of the same software
Installing the 64-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1x from a stand-alone installer after you already installed the 32-bit version might result in the 64-bit version not being installed. No errors occur to let you know that the installation failed.
This issue can happen after taking these steps:
- Install the 32-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1x without errors and launch the application successfully.
- Install the 64-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1x from the same stand-alone installer.
The 64-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1x is not found on your system, although you expect it to be present.
The workaround is to delete the following Windows registry keys and then attempt the installation of the 64-bit version again. Note: This workaround requires administration rights on the machine. Ensure that you back up the registry before you make any changes:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAS Institute Inc.\Enterprise Guide\7.1
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SAS Institute Inc.\Enterprise Guide\7.1
